Background to our Club
The Shitokai Erskine Karate Club was established in the year 2000, following the relocation of the club from it’s original home in Dalmuir CE Centre, Clydebank, Glasgow. Nowadays the number of clubs and the variety of Karate styles available make the choice of a club a daunting task, especially for the beginner with no knowledge of Karate. There are obviously many good clubs and many bad clubs around, however you can be sure that with Sensei McQueen’s experience over the last 50 plus years and the strength of the Shitokai organisation behind it, this club is one of the best. There are four main traditional styles of Karate world-wide, namely Shito-ryu, Goju-ryu, Wado-ryu and Shotokan. The style practised in the Erskine club is SHITO-RYU. Whether your interest is in pure traditional Shito-ryu Karate, or you wish to try your hand at Sport Karate, we can help you achieve these goals. The club is located in the Park Mains Sports Complex attached to the Park Mains High School, Barhill Road, Erskine, PA8 6EY.
TRAINING TIMES
Every Tuesday and Thursday with 2 available sessions each night.
1st session – 5 years of age up (Primary School age only)
6:00pm – 7:00pm
2nd session – High School age and adults (over 18 years)
7:00pm – 8:00pm
